The mysterious Agudeza
After I played against the almost 2700 rated Agudeza in the 3-minute pool I got a bit curious and followed him for his remaining games that evening. And well…I managed to observe two more games. He played very strong against me of course but looked also very impressive in his games against Yardbird(GM) and then against a strong IM.
I’ll for sure keep an eye out for this player who will have a hard time remaining anonymous if he is among the top players in the world.
Aside from the strong play we have a 2700 3-minute rating which is by far the highest active one on ICC. The 2nd best is Rauf Mamedov with about 2650 and then in 3rd and 4th you’ll find “normal” GM’s such as Conrad Holt with 2530. For comparison Nakamura currently sits at 2730.
The openings in the three games of course could mean this is anybody but they do align interestingly with the repertoire of a certain Norwegian!
The flag is Spanish but that doesn’t really mean anything as anonymous accounts quite often use fake flags to disguise their identity.
Anyway, have a look for yourself!
